Revenue-split piece rate is the standard in drywall and framing — Crewsplit was built around exactly this model, with room to pay hangers and finishers differently when your crews need it.
The most common model: a comp percentage by crew size (often higher for 1-person and 4+ crews, slightly lower for 2–3), applied to net job revenue and shared across the crew using a pay-weight or split table.
On bigger commercial-scale jobs, some companies pay hangers and finishers/tapers different percentages directly, rather than pooling and splitting by weight.
Some drywall crews are paid "per piece" — a set rate per sheet, board, or unit of work rather than a percentage of job revenue. Crewsplit doesn't have a dedicated per-piece rate field for drywall the way it does sq ft rates for insulation. Today, per-piece pay maps to Crewsplit's revenue split or per-role % methods — you'd set your rate up as a comp percentage of the job instead of a flat per-piece amount.
| How you pay today | Crewsplit method | Fit |
|---|---|---|
| One comp % by crew size, split by tier weight | Revenue split | Good fit |
| Different % for hangers vs. finishers/tapers | Per-role % | Good fit |
| Flat rate per sheet/board ("per piece") | Revenue split or per-role %, set up as a comp % | Workaround |
| Multi-day jobs spanning pay periods | Multi-day job tracking | Good fit |
